FringeMI Festival
June 5 to 11, 2023
Nearly 8,000 participants enjoyed the events of the FringeMI Festival, with a program that developed over seven days, involving eleven neighborhoods of Milan, 50 stages for a total of 150 shows with many different shows aimed at different audiences.
The success of the fifth edition of FringeMI is linked to an organizational structure that ensures the care of each neighborhood in which the festival takes place. This is possibile thanks to the organization that engage the local associations that live and work in that neighborhood. The result has been a true widespread festival with a big and responsive audience, a wave of new supporters that fills us with joy! After some difficult years, this bring us hope for a new season for the cultural events, making FringeMI play an important role in the Milanese and national cultural offer.

We wish to award a show that embodied at his best the spirit of the Fringe, which enhances the link between audience and performance in an unconventional space, an insight that bring out great theater classics in an original way in a form deliberately contaminated by contemporary devices, with a critical look at the Showbusiness system, the role of the artist, and the ways in which art is enjoyed.

FringeMI Festival is coordinated by Bardha Mimòs, which directly organizes the NoLo Fringe Festival from 2019 and AEM Fringe Festival. Baggio Fringe è organized by EQUA Social Cooperative, Benedetto Marcello Fringe is organized by Benedetto Marcello Social Street, Calvairate Fringe is organized by The Loggia of Calvairate, Cistà Fringe is organized by Cistà – Città Studi Acquabella Social District, Dergano Fringe is organized by Choros Theater Cultural Association, Martesana Fringe is organized by Praxis Cultural Association, Nettle Fringe is organized by PaT – Passi Teatrali aps, Lambro Park Fringe is organized by Alma Rosé, Villapizzone Fringe is organized by The Fine Arts aps.

A special thanks goes to all the partners who have chosen to participate in our project and who share with FringeMI Festival the desire to generate value for the community and the territory, creating a synergistic dialogue between the artistic and business worlds. Starting with institutions such as the Municipality of Milan, i Municipalities of Zone 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9, Cariplo Foundation e Istituto del Credito Sportivo, our sincerest thanks we also dedicate to the partners who have reconfirmed their support such as AEM Foundation, which from this year will be the official stage of the Festival, opening its spaces to the community for five consecutive evenings, such as Cityscoot e Trenord, our Travel Partner, who will again be at our side for this fifth edition of the Festival, promoting with us widespread social occasions for a culture linked to sustainable mobility. Sustainability, in fact, for the festival is not only a subject of creativity but also a fundamental point to be shared with our partners: in fact, the attention to the environment has brought new realities such as Etica SGR to enthusiastically join the initiative with the goal of promoting ethical behavior and making sustainability the star. Special thanks also to BPM Foundation e KPMG who have chosen this year to stand alongside the Festival to achieve together important goals of social development and urban regeneration, contributing to the collective well-being in all those most sensitive areas of our city.
